The models for the commissioned Necron army finally arrived after two days of the couriers pussy-footing about. So here are a few images of what we have to work with. Deadline is easter, so I'll be painting and uploading images like a boss over the next two weeks.
So here's the basics. A very large army case, which includes the custom foam on one side for the Ghost Ark. The Necron Battleforce; an excellent place to start. And it's rounded off with an Overlord. What surprised me about this model was that the golden rim around the shoulder armour that you can see in the Heavy Metal colour scheme is actually painted on. No separating groove or anything. I'm also really quite glad I picked up that pot of liquid green stuff a few days ago. Quite a few places on this mini that it'll be useful for.
Next up we have an image of what you see when you open up the battleforce box. Good golly is that a lot of sprue.
And finally I've snapped an image of all of the sprues from the battleforce laid out so you can really appreciate how goddamn much they managed to fit in the box. Top right we have 5x necron warrior frames. Top left is the Immortal/Deathmark frame. Along the bottom is the Ghost Ark.
